Her consultancy, NyaPearl Solutions, seeks to empower Black communities and Black women through education, advocacy, and research strategies.Despite her numerous professional achievements, it’s Dr. Shamsid-Deen’s personal journey that truly inspires her writing. After the loss of her first daughter, Nya Iman Shamsid-Deen, she found herself searching for a sense of purpose. This book is born from that search – a beautiful tribute to her daughter’s memory, designed to connect Nya’s siblings to her legacy. Having contributed to publications like the Muslim Journal and influential research reports on social issues, Dr. Shamsid-Deen brings a deep sense of empathy and understanding to her debut book. Her compelling narrative serves as both a testament to her resilience and a beacon of hope for others navigating their own paths through life’s challenges.
