Brass & Wool is a new bookstore with the goal of spotlighting the lesser known author and improving the literacy rates and by extension, the confidence of all children in our communities of wooly hair and brazen feet.

This Ohio-based online bookstore is 100% women-owned and black-owned; with a mission to give the youth of ALL backgrounds better access to Black literature; some of which can be illegitimately hidden, banned, or shunned in Western society.   We don’t limit our books to only one race, however.  There are certainly noteworthy books written by and for other demographics. When you request those books for purchase, we will gladly order that title into the store! Our store reflects the customers who support us!

This bookstore is unique – while other stores tend to push out products and content they believe their customers want, our store differs in that our shelves mostly hold customer-requested/purchased literature. This allows us to provide readers with the confidence that the books they see on our shelves are currently desired and/or anticipated!
